- Beijing's embassy in Washington reiterated this week that it "firmly opposes official interactions of any form between China's Taiwan region and the US," while China's foreign ministry did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
- Tsai argued that deeper cooperation with Taiwan strengthens the stability of the Indo-Pacific, warning that serious disruption in the Taiwan Strait would be felt throughout the region and beyond.
