A fire raged for a short time last night in a flat on the Uilenstede student campus in Amstelveen. As a result, dozens of residents have had to temporarily leave their homes. The fire raged on the fifth floor and broke out around 12:30. According to the fire department, the fire was quickly contained. How the fire started is not yet known. Fires force evacuations at Amstelveen student dorm & Leeuwarden block
Two separate fires forced the evacuation of an apartment building in Leeuwarden and a student housing complex in Amstelveen overnight. Firefighters had to rescue one Leeuwarden resident with a crane truck. No significant injuries were reported in either fire.
