Today is a day of national mourning in Suriname. The reason is a boat accident last Sunday on the Marowijne River in which seven people lost their lives. Much is still unclear about the cause. According to the Surinamese news site Starnieuws, the boat suddenly capsized. It happened near Albina, a place in the north of the country.
