The JOVD is affiliated with the VVD but operates independently. Where party leader Yesilgöz does not want to speak out about the PVV, the youth organization is crystal clear. "Geert, you had your chance. This is not working."
The VVD is facing a 'devil's dilemma' now that the failed adventure with Geert Wilders' PVV is pushing the liberals towards Frans Timmermans' PvdA/GL. Some party luminaries are inclined to exclude the PVV, but abhor the alternative. In the meantime, VVD leader Yesilgöz is waiting before making a decision. "It looks like political masochism."
The VVD supporters do not want a new collaboration with the PVV. This is evident from a poll by the RTL Nieuwspanel led by Gijs Rademaker. No less than 70 percent of the VVD voters indicate that they ‘certainly do not’ want to be in a cabinet with Geert Wilders again.
