PCB unveils schedule for Pakistan's tri-series with Afghanistan and UAE
SHARJAH, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, AUG 1 – The tri-series features seven matches with each team playing four games, providing key preparation for the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup starting September 9 in the UAE.
- On August 1, the Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed a tri-nation T20 series involving Pakistan, Afghanistan, and UAE from August 29 to September 7 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
- Having initially planned bilateral Pakistan-Afghanistan matches, the PCB proposed transforming it into a tri-nation series organized by the Emirates Cricket Board to serve as a warm-up for the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025.
- The schedule features a round-robin format where each team plays the others twice, with the top two advancing to a final on September 7, 2025.
- UAE will aim to make the most of their home advantage and test themselves against stronger opponents, with ACB CEO Naseeb Khan saying `This series comes at a crucial time in our calendar.`
- Following the tri-series, the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 begins on September 9, with Pakistan facing Oman on September 12 and India on September 14.
