On the 23rd, it was observed that the evergreen climbing plant Mube (Akebia ferns), which grows by spreading its vines on other trees and bears flowers and fruit, was blooming on the east coast of Nago City, Okinawa Prefecture. The flowers, which are about 2 cm long, bloom downward and are characterized by having reddish purple streaks inside and curving outward. After the flowers fall, they bear egg-shaped fruits about 5 cm long around November.
