I recently had the privilege of being among representatives from Wales at an international conference on communities with a higher density of minority language speakers. This was in a small town called Azpeitia, in the middle of a wooded and mountainous area in the Basque Country, about fifteen miles inland from the coast of the Bay of Biscay, and roughly halfway between Bilbao and Donostia (San Sebastian).
