The National Institute of Statistics (INE) has registered a striking increase in the Consumer Price Index. Inflation in May was 3.65%: the worst monthly variation of this indicator in recent years. With this monthly figure, the accumulated inflation in the first five months is 9.81 per cent, that is to say, it has already exceeded the 7.5 per cent annual inflation that the Government had foreseen in Budget 2025.
