The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has asked all banks to stop dispensing Rs 500 notes from ATMs by the end of September 2025. "The target is to have 75 per cent of all banks' ATMs by 31 March 2026 and 90 per cent thereafter. Henceforth, only Rs 200 and Rs 100 notes will be dispensed in ATMs," the claim said.
