The West should continue to put pressure on Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to try to force him to make democratic changes, said Belarusian opposition figure Sergei Tikhanovsky, who was recently released from prison.
When Sergei Tihanovsky first entered the streets with a camera, he did not seem to have sought a revolution; his YouTube channel, "The Country for Life", began as a chronicle of displeasure; he allowed people to speak out; but soon he himself became a voice of protest and then one of the main enemies of Belarusian power.


The EU should not talk to Lukashenko. Isolate him, says the released Belarusian opposition leader Siarhei Tsichanouski. DN has met with him in Vilnius.
After more than five years in prison, the Belarusian opposition Sergei Tichanovsky again appears publicly. He wants to continue to fight against the regime.
Sergej Tikhanovsky was isolated in bare, small cells and told the BBC that Belarus must release the other political prisoners.
