A group of residents in the Parkbuurt neighborhood in Zandvoort is fed up with the heavy summer traffic. They've cleverly closed their streets to navigation apps. Or they're simply putting up a proper no-traffic sign. "Everyone here is in favor."
The municipality of Zandvoort is warning road users to turn off their navigation systems on access roads. The municipality has installed several warning signs following a protest by residents of the Parkbuurt neighborhood. They sent so many reports to Google Maps that the navigation app now reports that the streets there are closed.
