- The academy recognized creators "whose artistry, innovation and service have shaped the industry and inspired generations around the world," as Brandy became the first Black actress to play Cinderella in 1997.
- Producer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds and actress Issa Rae celebrated at the ceremony, with Rae calling Brandy "the blueprint" for modern performers without artistic lanes.
- The ceremony precedes Brandy's debut memoir, Phases, releasing tomorrow, which allows her to celebrate her accomplishments in her own words.
- With 13 Grammy nominations, Brandy has sold more than 16 million copies of her 1998 album Never Say Never and recently reprised Cinderella in the 2024 film Descendants: The Rise of Red.
