OTTAWA — Less than a year from the 2026 Soccer World Cup, American political tensions and politics are threatening to cause problems as Canada, the United States and Mexico prepare to co-organize the tournament. Next year's FIFA World Cup will be the largest ever, with the three countries hosting a record 48 teams. Between June 11 and July 19, they will play 104 games, most of them in the United States.
