- Pilgrims from Sihagaon village were heading to offer holy water at Prithvinath Temple, with the vehicle carrying 15 passengers en route when the accident occurred.
- Villagers and rescue teams recovered 11 bodies, and four survivors, including the driver, were hospitalized, Superintendent of Police Vineet Jaiswal said in Gonda.
- Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed condolences and announced Rs 5 lakh aid for each victim's next of kin, directing officials to speed relief and medical treatment.
- Authorities have sent the bodies for postmortem as investigation teams initiate a technical examination of the vehicle to determine the cause.
