- After declaring a Pan-Pan at 1.38 pm IST, the pilot informed Kathmandu tower, shut down the affected engine, and held over the Dhading district before diverting to Kolkata.
- Emergency crews brought the engine fire under control at 1.51 pm and extinguished and cooled the affected area while the aircraft is parked and inspection underway at Kolkata NSCBI.
- The DGCA has ordered a special audit while Kolkata NSCBI runway operations were briefly disrupted, and Turkish Airlines has initiated a technical inspection and pledged cooperation.
