The detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor İmamoğlu was protested in many countries, especially by Turkish citizens living in Europe.

In Hesse, hundreds of people with various concerns took to the streets. In Frankfurt, around 400 participants demanded the release of Istanbul's mayor İmamoğlu. In Kassel, the organisers wanted to recall the "cross-thinking" protests.
