Toyota Announces $1 Billion Investment in US Plants
The $1 billion investment will boost production of Camry, RAV4, and Grand Highlander models while preparing Kentucky for Toyota's second battery electric vehicle, officials said.
- Toyota announced it would spend $1 billion at its plants in Kentucky and Indiana as part of a plan to invest up to $10 billion in its U.S. operations over the next five years.
- The company will invest $800 million in its Georgetown, Kentucky plant to increase production capacity of the Camry sedan and RAV4 crossover, and $200 million in its Princeton, Indiana plant to boost capacity for the Toyota Grand Highlander SUV.
- Toyota is also donating $4.4 million to schools in Kentucky to foster the future workforce and U.S. manufacturing.
