Last Monday, the national Government announced, by Decree No. 373/2025 published in the Official Gazette, the transfer of responsibility for the care of persons in street situations to the provinces. The decree is an amendment to Law No. 27,654 which establishes the rights of persons in street situations and at risk who are in Argentine territory and the duties of the national State towards that population. By Decree No. 373/2025, the Mileist administration limited its scope and intervention in public policies aimed at street people, who will now receive assistance only from the provinces and the City of Buenos Aires.
