Rohit Sharma became the fifth Indian to pass 14,000 List A runs, reaching the mark in his 345th innings, officials said.
On Wednesday, Rohit Sharma completed 14,000 List A runs during the second ODI against Afghanistan at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, becoming the fifth Indian player to reach this milestone.
Joining an elite list of Indian batters, Rohit follows Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly, and Rahul Dravid. He achieved this milestone during his 345th List A innings.
Scoring 48 runs off 39 balls, Rohit contributed to India's total of 402 runs in 49.5 overs. Centuries from Skipper Shubman Gill and Ishan anchored the innings.
Afghanistan needs to chase 403 to level the series after India reached 402 all out. The target sets up a decisive contest in the ODI encounter.
Globally, only 26 batters have surpassed 14,000 List A runs. Sachin Tendulkar leads Indian scorers with 21,999 runs, while Former England captain Graham Gooch holds the global record of 22,211.
