Chuck Schumer’s Approval Rating Hits Rock Bottom, Poll Shows
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer's approval rating among New York voters has dropped to 32%, the lowest in Siena University poll history according to a poll released on Tuesday.
A majority of respondents, 55%, view Schumer unfavorably, including 74% of Republicans and 61% of independents, according to the same poll.
Democratic lawmakers have called for Schumer to resign as leader after eight members of his caucus negotiated a deal with Republicans during the government shutdown, as reported by a Siena pollster.
According to pollster Steven Greenberg, Schumer's favorability has significantly decreased from 63-20% in 2005 to the current rating of 32-55%.
