- Under-19 coach Daniel Bauer will step in, replacing Simonis until further notice as assistant coaches Peter van der Veen, Tristan Berghuis, and Martin Darneviel also leave.
- The supervisory board agreed that Wolfsburg needed a change, with Peter Christiansen saying `In football it is all about results and points at the end of the day, and the development in the past few weeks did not go as we had wished.`
- Bauer faces an immediate test after the international break as Wolfsburg will host Bayer Leverkusen on Nov. 22, and Christiansen said he is convinced Bauer can start positive development.
