NIGERIA, JUL 14 – Nigeria observes national mourning and state funeral preparations for Muhammadu Buhari, who served as president twice and died at 82 after a prolonged illness, officials said.

- Having secured a second term in 2019, Buhari’s health had been faltering in recent years.
- Following Buhari’s death, Tinubu declared national mourning and arranged Muslim funeral rites, while he dispatched Vice President Kashim Shettima to London to accompany Buhari’s remains.
