Summary by Fort McMurray Today
Roger Sierra knew his epilepsy meant he could not legally drive since 2017. But minutes after the Calgary man got behind the wheel of a company truck on Nov. 9, a seizure caused him to crash into a Boston Pizza in downtown Fort McMurray. A waitress, 24-year-old Emily Verge, was processing an order when the truck toppled a wall and pinned her against the bar. Verge later died from her injuries.
