- In a video shared from the event, Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa said he was defecting with supporters to avoid repeating a past mistake and told thousands of constituents in Kofa, Bebeji, Kano, `I don't want anyone to say I don't have supporters.`
- Jibrin wrote `The gathering resolved to leave the NNPP/Kwankwasiyya, join the APC, and endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office`.
- His close ties to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had fuelled speculation of an APC alignment as about 2,000 Islamic clerics from Kiru/Bebeji held prayers for Tinubu and peace, while Jibrin said he brought supporters to correct an earlier mistake.
