In its ruling announced on Thursday, the Court of Justice of the European Union found Hungary to be in breach of its obligations.
The Court rejected the government's arguments in support of the Hungarian regulation restricting the export of construction materials and fully agreed with the European Commission. Hungary failed to demonstrate that the shortage of the raw materials and construction materials concerned constituted a genuine and sufficiently serious threat affecting a fundamental interest of society.
The Hungarian government has lost another case at the European Court of Justice. This time, the court ruled that the ban on the export of construction materials violates EU law.
