Sifan Hassan missed out on a second Olympic title in the 5,000 meters; she won bronze. The 31-year-old Dutchman could become the first athlete to win a track and road medal at the same Games.
The Kenyan world record woman in the 10,000 m Beatrice Chebet was crowned Olympic champion in the 5,000 m on Monday evening in 14 min 28 sec 56 ahead of the Dutch Sifan Hassan, after a wild race marked by the disqualification of Faith Kipyegon.
