Several protestors, drivers, outside Governor Abbott’s Tyler event given ‘horn violation’ citations

The demonstration marked the second protest this week in Tyler, with demonstrators opposing the Smith County Sheriff’s Office’s involvement in the 287G program, which reimburses the office for working with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE. Several drivers and protesters, including Elizabeth Montoya, received “horn violation” citations from Tyler Police during the demonstration.
