The iconic Goodyear Blimp is 100. To celebrate, a flight over Ohio
- Goodyear is flying three of its four blimps—Wingfoot One, Two, and Three—over Akron from June 3 to 5, 2025, to celebrate the blimps' 100th anniversary.
- The flyover honors the Goodyear Blimp's legacy, marked by its first flight in 1925 and its role in marketing and major events, including sports and TV broadcasts.
- Residents can attend free events at Wingfoot Lake State Park and at the downtown venue for the Akron State of the City event, which will include a blimp flyover of Canal Park prior to the Akron RubberDucks baseball game.
- The first 1,000 fans entering Canal Park on June 3 will receive commemorative T-shirts, and doors open for the Lock 3 event at 4 p.m. With registration required.
