Devastating Update on Nixon Newell and Her Partner's AEW Future Following Walkout Controversy
Newell and Alize refused a three-minute match citing concerns it would not benefit wrestlers, with all parties agreeing on the decision, AEW sources confirmed.
- This past Saturday, Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize left the AEW Collision arena before their scheduled match against Tay Melo and Anna Jay, with Maya World and Hyan replacing them on the card.
- Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp clarified that Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize took issue with the match being only three minutes, which they confirmed on a Sunday Twitch stream.
- According to Alize and Newell, the AEW Collision production team and the producer acknowledged the disagreement was respectful with no shouting, giving the all-clear for their departure.
- As a result of the change, Maya World and Hyan took the scheduled spot, and Tay Jay defeated them in a three-minute AEW Collision match, while Newell and Alize said the short match wouldn’t benefit anyone.
- Newell framed the incident, saying, `I told everyone at the beginning of the year, this is my last two years in wrestling`, and she wants to enjoy their remaining time in wrestling with no bad blood.
