ICE agent arrested for pulling gun on California teen, lawyer says
Gerardo Rodriguez faces felony assault and child endangerment charges after detaining a 17-year-old at gunpoint for nearly 20 minutes, deputies said.
- A border patrol agent, Gerardo Uribe Rodriguez, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, assault by a public officer, and child endangerment after pulling a gun on a 17-year-old boy in Temecula, California while off duty.
- Rodriguez was released on $40,000 bond and is expected to return to court on December 26 to answer to the felony charges.
- According to the boy's lawyer, this is the first known case in California of an ICE/Border Patrol agent arrested and criminally charged for detaining a U.S. citizen at gunpoint while acting under the color of law.
