BELGIUM, JUL 25 – Piastri took pole with a 0.477-second lead over Verstappen after a sprint qualifying session marked by Hamilton's early spin and elimination, officials said.
- On Saturday, Championship leader Oscar Piastri secured pole at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, outpacing Max Verstappen and Lando Norris.
- Ahead of the sprint, Friday practice saw Piastri top both sessions, while Lando Norris—fresh from back-to-back wins—could not match his pace.
- During the second segment, Piastri set a 1:40.510 lap, over four tenths clear, after barely avoiding Q2 elimination at Raidillon.
- Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton spun out in Q1 and will line up 18th, while Esteban Ocon and Ollie Bearman qualified around sixth, flanking Carlos Sainz.
- With pole, Piastri extends his championship lead to eight points after 12 of 24 rounds, and Saturday's sprint will set the grid for Sunday's Grand Prix.
