Interpol has struck a second major blow against cybercrime in Africa. As part of Operation Serengeti 2.0, more than 1,200 suspects were arrested, malicious infrastructure was dismantled, and nearly $100 million was seized.
Transnational networks, illegal cryptomining, massive scams and distributed infrastructure: Operation Serengeti 2.0 marks a turning point in Interpol's fight against cybercrime on the African continent. In three months, 18 countries, the United Kingdom and several private partners have joined forces to target the most active networks and hit the heart of their infrastructure.
