Economy and energy were central topics of the coalition committee. One result: German industry should be helped by its own electricity price. Another: the ticket tax in aviation should be reduced.
According to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, a reduction in the ticket tax is to bring 350 million euros in favour of the aviation industry.
The industry is complaining about high energy prices. The Federal Government is granting discharges. This also applies to the aviation industry.
At the press conference of the coalition committee, the Federal Government presented este results. For example, the reduction of the industrial electricity price to five cents per kilowatt hour. Thus, the coalition wants to make Germany attractive again as an industrial location.
A reduced electricity price of about five cents per kilowatt hour will apply to the industry for 2026 to 2028. In addition, the ticket tax in the air transport sector will be reduced.
This is what Chancellor Merz said. Previously, the leaders of the Union and the SPD had discussed it in the coalition committee.
