CMAT: 'It's Really Nice to Finally Win in England'
CMAT said the win was her first award in England after Euro-Country was named best album at the Ivor Novello Awards.
Irish singer-songwriter CMAT won Best Album for her record Euro-Country at the 2026 Ivor Novello Awards in London on Thursday, saying "it's nice to finally win an award in England."
Presented by The Ivors Academy, the peer-judged ceremony celebrates songwriting and composing, with Sir Elton John announced as the academy's first-ever president and receiving an Ivors Academy Honour.
Sam Fender won Songwriter of the Year, Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalia Vila Tobella collected International Songwriter of the Year, and Calvin Harris received the Music Icon Award alongside rapper Kano's Visionary Award.
Scottish singer-songwriter Jacob Alon took home two awards for Rising Star and Best Song Musically and Lyrically for Don't Fall Asleep, while 4 Non Blondes' Linda Perry received the Special International Award from James Blunt.
Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke and the late Wham! were granted a Fellowship of The Ivors Academy, while poet Kae Tempest won Best Contemporary Song and singer Lola Young won the PRS For Music award for Most Performed Work.
