Experts highlight China’s sovereignty over Yongxing Dao amid Western media hype of Chinese bomber deployment

Western media on Wednesday hyped an alleged Chinese bomber deployment on an island in the South China Sea, claiming the move signaled China’s growing military capabilities. Chinese military affairs experts, however, said that even if such deployment was made, it is normal, reiterating China’s sovereignty over the island.

Today (May 28), Reuters cited satellite images from Maxar showing a pair of China's most modern bombers parked on the runway of Phu Lam Island in the Hoang Sa archipelago, which belongs to Vietnam but is illegally occupied by China.
