Sanz suffered the cardiac arrest while attending her Day Program and was rushed to the hospital; her family described the death as 'a total shock' and 'unexpected.'
During her time on 'Born This Way,' Sanz appeared in all four seasons of the A&E documentary series following a 'diverse group' of young people with Down syndrome, including her relationship with Angel Callahan.
The network expressed deep sadness, noting Sanz touched 'the hearts of many' through the series, which won three Emmy Awards including Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program during her tenure.
Known for being 'first to help someone in need,' Sanz championed compassion; she famously celebrated when Jamie Lee Curtis won an Oscar in 2023 for 'Everything Everywhere All At Once.
