Eva Green ‘Recovering Well’ After 'Wednesday' Set Injury as Filming Schedules Rearranged
Production paused after Eva Green suffered an accidental leg injury, with medics called and filming schedules rearranged, a source said.
Earlier this month, French actress Eva Green was hospitalized after sustaining a leg injury while filming Netflix's Wednesday Season 3 near Dublin. The 45-year-old star plays Aunt Ophelia Frump in the Addams Family spin-off.
Playing the sister of Morticia Addams, Ophelia Frump was teased at the end of the previous season when she was seen writing "Wednesday must die" on a wall, creating anticipation for Green's debut.
Described as "really nasty" by sources, the accident left Green "clearly in pain" before medics were called to the set. She was taken to hospital and underwent treatment, now recovering well.
Production was temporarily halted while the star underwent treatment, with filming schedules subsequently rearranged to allow for her recovery. Ophelia is considered a major player in the upcoming season.
Netflix invested a reported $15 million per episode for the hit series starring Jenna Ortega and Catherine Zeta-Jones, which ranks among the platform's most-watched original productions globally.
