Makar's impressive season at Maine leads to Avalanche deal

On Monday, the Colorado Avalanche signed 24-year-old forward Taylor Makar, younger brother of Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar, to a one-year, entry-level deal.
Taylor Makar, a seventh-round pick by Colorado in 2021, joins the organization after a season at the University of Maine.
Makar will report to the Colorado Eagles of the American Hockey League on an amateur tryout for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.
