Air Astana Selects up to 15 Boeing 787 Dreamliners to Expand Global Network
Air Astana plans to modernize its fleet with up to 15 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, boosting capacity and enabling new North America routes, joining global operators flying 500,000 daily.
- At the C5+1 Summit, Air Astana JSC said on Nov. 6, 2025, it will purchase up to 15 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.
- Air Astana said the additional 787-9s will enable expansion and enhance passenger experience, noting it currently operates three 767 widebody jets on routes to Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
- The order includes five firm, five options and five purchase rights, and with three leased 787-9s will reach commitments of 18 aircraft valued at US$7 billion, said Air Astana.
- Air Astana said the order will support more than 20,000 U.S. jobs and highlight Central Asia's rising role in global aviation, pending finalization.
- The Company has secured Board approval and is completing final procedural requirements, with Air Astana expected to receive its first 787-9 next year, expanding its long-haul fleet.
