- On Thursday, Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone maker, launched the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max in China as its new flagship models featuring Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
- By skipping a generation in naming, Xiaomi positioned the 17 series to align with Apple's iPhone 17 series and challenge it directly, moving from Xiaomi 15 to 17 this year.
- The devices pack a 7,500mAh battery , triple 50MP rear cameras and Leica tuning, plus a 1.5K OLED display with HyperOS 3.
- Pre-Orders are open in China and sales are scheduled to start at 10:00 AM local time on September 27, with phones exclusive to Xiaomi online store and global rollout expected next year.
