Two cross-border projects, totalling EUR 25 million, were officially launched on 05 June 2025 in Kinshasa under the joint initiative of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and the Republic of Uganda, with the support of the European Union (EU), aimed at consolidating stability, strengthening community resilience, promoting bilateral cooperation and stimulating formal trade in the border regions of the two countries.

The World Bank has approved a $250m credit to fund the first phase of what could be the biggest hydroelectric project in the world: Inga 3 in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The plan is to add a third generating dam to the Inga Falls on the River Congo.
