Witnessing the body of a "child of the Ryukyus" - Victim of a wartime evacuation ship? - Man from southern Taiwan testifies

[Yoshitaka Matsuda, Taiwan correspondent] In Chiayi County in southern Taiwan, a man says he witnessed the remains of about 10 children who had been evacuated from Okinawa to Taiwan during the evacuation from Okinawa that began in earnest after the fall of 1944 toward the end of the Asia-Pacific War. In another village in a nearby rural area, a man also testifies that he had played with Okinawan evacuees.
