The judges of the Court of Assizes of Appeal in Rome have established Marco's life imprisonment and 28 years for his brother Gabriele. The two were accused of killing Willy Monteiro Duarte, in 2020.

The fatal beating in Colleferro on the night between 5 and 6 September 2020. In the first instance, the two defendants had been sentenced to life imprisonment, but then in Appeal the sentence had been reduced to 24 years.
The second appeal process requested by the Court of Cassation to assess the existence of generic extenuating circumstances confirmed Marco Bianchi's life sentence, lowering his brother Gabriele's sentence to 28 years. Willy's mother: 'We have only one photograph left and his voice is only a distant memory'
