The imam of the Şehzadebaşı Mosque, whose historical graves were allegedly damaged during the protests in Saraçhane, used reactionary expressions in his sermon to the congregation.

The imam of the Şehzadebaşı Mosque, in his speech to the mosque congregation, referring to the actions taken against the operation against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, said: "Don't get your hopes up in vain, my son. That's over even in Syria. You know, you'll get an iron fist in Turkey, so come to your senses."

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel visited the Şehzadebaşı Mosque, which was vandalized during the unauthorized demonstrations held in Saraçhane following the corruption and terror investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM). Özel, who made the examinations, said, "I am here to learn the truth."
