Exhumations of Those Killed in 1943 Will Be Held for the Second Time in Two Former Villages in Volyn
Exhumation of the dead will be held in two former villages in Volyn for the second time in 1943. Exhumation works are started in Volyn for the reburial of the inhabitants of the former villages of Ostrovka and Wola Ostrovetsk, who died during Volyn tragedy. Work will continue until August 7 to implement Ukrainian-Polish agreements.

On July 11, 1943, the genocide in Volhynia reached its climax. Units of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army attacked nearly 100 villages inhabited by Poles. According to historian Professor Grzegorz Motyka, the brutality with which these crimes were committed was deliberate, intended to conceal their organized, planned nature.
