ONS Revises UK Q2 GDP Growth Up to 0.5%
Stronger services growth and higher household income lifted the revised reading, while business investment rose 5.2%, the ONS said.
The Office for National Statistics reported Britain's economy grew 0.5% between April-to-June, outpacing the initial 0.4% estimate released today.
Past data revisions showed 2025 growth was 1.2%, down from 1.3% previously recorded, though stronger services sector activity means the economy is now slightly larger overall.
Business investment growth climbed to 5.2% from 0.8%, while real household disposable income per head rose 1.0% in the three months to June, the strongest quarterly jump since late 2024.
Britain was the fastest-growing economy among the Group of Seven in the first half of 2026, providing Finance Minister John Healey with positive signals ahead of October's budget.
Liz McKeown, ONS director of economic statistics, said the latest figures reflect "annual improvements to the measurement of the economy, incorporating new information that provides a better picture of activity across the UK.
