- Over the weekend, fighting broke out between Druze militias and Bedouin groups, then Syrian state troops joined after a Druze merchant was kidnapped on the highway to Damascus.
- According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, more than 300 people have been killed since Sunday, with residents also reporting summary executions and looting by regime troops.
