SoFi Stadium Hawk Named Bubba Found 20 Miles Away, Alice Still Missing: Report

One trained hawk was recovered by a homeowner after being stolen from SoFi Stadium; police continue searching for the second bird and the thief, authorities said.

  • On Sunday, Oct. 5, Falconer Charles Cogger confirmed one of two trained hawks stolen last month was found in Hacienda Heights, reuniting Bubba with its owner.
  • The two hawks were taken after a UTV theft on Sept. 28; the Kawasaki Mule UTV was stolen from SoFi Stadium with the birds used to deter birds during games.
  • A homeowner spotted Bubba in her backyard near Seventh Street, Hacienda Heights and called police, who contacted Inglewood Police Department and falconer Charles Cogger to recover the hawk.
  • The Kawasaki Mule UTV was recovered Sept. 29 in South Los Angeles with two dead quails; Inglewood Police Department released a suspect photo and urged tips while Crime Stoppers offered a reward.
  • The missing hawk Alice remains at large, and Cogger said `Alice is still out there, but this gives me hope she will show up`, noting the birds wear metal identification bands and need food and water.
