'House of the Dragon' Season 3 enters production, adds Tommy Flanagan
- On March 31, 2025, HBO announced that production had commenced in Britain for Season 3 of *House of the Dragon*, with the announcement of new castings.
- *House of the Dragon*, based on George R.R. Martin's *Fire & Blood* and set 200 years before *Game of Thrones*, tells the story of House Targaryen and their civil war.
- Tommy Flanagan, known for his roles in *Sons of Anarchy*, *Gladiator*, and *Braveheart*, and Dan Fogler, known for *Fantastic Beasts* and *A Complete Unknown*, are joining the cast alongside James Norton, who was cast in January 2025.
- Flanagan will portray Ser Roderick Dustin, also known as "Roddy the Ruin," the Lord of Barrowton and head of House Dustin, who leads 2,000 seasoned northmen called the Winter Wolves in support of Rhaenyra Targaryen, while Fogler will play Ser Torrhen Manderly, the second son of Desmond Manderly, Lord of White Harbour.
- Season 3 of *House of the Dragon* will consist of eight episodes and is being treated as the penultimate season by showrunner Ryan Condal, with Condal indicating that they are giving the Battle of the Gullet the time and space it deserves, with a likely release date in 2026.
