Yellow onions are one of six basic food items that saw an 18.82 percent price decrease, according to a survey conducted by the Ministry of Development, Industry and Commerce (MIFIC) in five Managua markets. On January 26, onions were priced at 18.07 córdobas per pound, while this Tuesday they were selling for 14.67 córdobas. Other products that experienced price reductions include red beans, white corn kernels, chicken thighs, and bread.
